Explosives Health & Safety Support

Live Action FX applies its knowledge of explosive materials, systems, devices and techniques, so as to provide Explosives Health & Safety Support.

The majority of this work has so far been for local authorities and has been based around large public fireworks displays, where Live Action FX acts as an independent expert to oversee the work and procedures of the employed firework display operators.

This is to ensure that they are complying with the local authorities requirements and are not endangering themselves or any members of the public. The local authority is able to say that they have 'as far as is reasonably practicable' taken steps to protect people from the risks associated with public fireworks displays.

The level of involvement required of Live Action FX varies from event to event, sometimes it's as simple as checking the weather conditions and ensuring that the fireworks are appropriate to the expected wind direction and strength, other times full analysis of the event risk assessments are required and the audience (30,000 people) need to be moved to maintain their safety. Live Action FX has even been asked to consider offering a 'Bomb Disposal' service - to immediately clear any misfired fireworks from public access/egress routes!
