Display Design Initially, displays need to be designed to make the best use of the display area - the size and features of the site will dictate what size and type of firework can be used safely, which is of prime concern. Secondly the site layout itself will complement specific firework effects, which helps in achieving a spectacular show. As long as these factors are taken into account, you, the customer, can dictate the content and theme(s) of the show or you may wish to leave it to us and have a nice surprise from Live Action FX.
Things you may wish to consider & Things we do consider:
Music: What music (if any) do you want to accompany the display - we have the facility to mix together any number of pieces of music to create a soundtrack specific to your display, we even know musicians and composers who are willing to write music specifically to complement your display - Please note that musical displays start from £200 per minute (in order to provide the quantity & variety of fireworks needed to match the beat).
Colour(s): What are your favourite colours, what colours will best complement your event and/or the music you've chosen?
Noise: All fireworks make some noise, however some are specifically designed to create noise effects - there are three main firework noises: Crackles (a volley of relatively quite bangs), Salutes/Maroons (loud bangs) and Whistles (which are self-explanatory). You may want a quite display; then again you may want a show with some or all of these noise effects. Whatever type of show you go for, we'd recommend letting all the local inhabitants know about it, so that they can make sure their pets are safe indoors. Why not invite them to your event, anyone at a party is less likely to make a fuss than someone who was not invited!
Height: Different firework types produce different effects at different heights:
Ground Level: Flares (bengals), Small Fountains (gerbs), Set Pieces (Catherine wheels) and Lance Work (logos, pictures and messages) are examples of ground based effects that either burn on the ground or are secured on poles and raised up to about 10 feet.
Low Level: Small Roman Candles, Small Cakes, Small Mines and Large Fountains (gerbs) are examples of low level fireworks that project their effects up to about 30 feet.
Medium Level: Large Mines, Large Cakes and Small Shells (50mm/2" - 75mm/3" aerial shells) are examples of devices that deliver their effect to heights of between 20 and 300 feet above the firing site.
High Level: Large Shells (100mm/4" or more) burst at heights of 300 feet and above. Shells of 150mm/6" or more (we generally use shells of up to 400mm/16" diameter) can only be used on the largest of display sites - double, triple or possibly even greater safety distances than that described under Planning a Display will be required.
Pictures and additional information about these different effects and others can be found in our Fireworks Gallery. You may now wish to look at the On The Day page. |
